PYRENEES-ORIENTALES

A wild and preserved nature, diversified landscapes…

Perpignan, the capital

With 120,000 intramural inhabitants and its agglomeration of 324,000 inhabitants, Perpignan is the 2nd urban area of Languedoc-Roussillon.

Also called “Perpignan La Catalane”,this historic city is a unique place where French architecture coincides with Spanish and Catalan architecture. It has a strong identity, an exceptional heritage but also an undeniable cultural and historical richness.

Intellectual, cultural, political and economic capital of the south of the region and of the north of Catalonia, Perpignan is a dynamic and pleasant city which deserves its place in the list of the most attractive cities in terms of safe real estate investment and holiday resort. The excellent internet coverage of the city and its outskirts with access to very high-speed internet is a major asset for our customers wishing to work from home.

A privileged environment

Here, the high mountains of the Pyrenees come directly into the Mediterranean Sea. The landscapes are breath-taking. Classed as the hottest region in France, it benefits from a very privileged environment: built around an agricultural plain, surrounded on the one hand by the Mediterranean coast and on the other by mountains including the famous Canigou massif.

Perpignan is 10 minutes from the coast, 20 minutes from the Spanish border and 1 hour from the ski resorts of the Pyrenees.

Our hinterland and our coastline are still wild and unspoilt. Their large undeveloped natural spaces make them particularly attractive.

The Catalan coastline stretches from north to south for 54 kilometres with an incredible variety of landscapes. From fine sand in the north of the department to pebbles in the south, there are 66 beaches to discover in Roussillon.

The Vermeille coast and Collioure remain one of the jewels of our department closely followed by Saint Cyprien, famous for its 27-hole international golf course and the 3rd largest marina in France.

Access - Transport: A multitude of choices from France and Spain

Our department is easily accessible. In addition to Perpignan airport, we have a large choice of nearby national and international airports. They allow direct and quick access, plus our rail network equipped with the TGV to Barcelona is a major asset.

Finally, our road network of expressways is dense and complete towards the coast and the ski resorts of the Pyrenees.
